New Senior Housing Development Coming to Rochester

A new senior housing development for Rochester will soon be underway. Arthur H. Nickless, Jr. Housing for the Elderly, which is sponsored by 17 Glenwood Ave, LLC and the Rochester Housing Authority, received over $500,000 in federal HOME funding plus Low Income Housing Tax Credits through New Hampshire Housing. Arthur H. Nickless, Jr., who was highly involved in the local community and served on the Rochester Housing Authority Commission for more than 20 years, passed away last December after battling cancer, and the project is named in his honor

Kuster Announces $40,000 in USDA Rural Development Grants to Support Seniors in Grafton County

Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) today announced $40,000 in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program to the Grafton County Senior Citizens Council. Ayotte Introduces Bill to Help States Repair Deficient Bridges

U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) announced today that she has introduced legislation that would help New Hampshire and other states repair or maintain bridges classified as deficient. The Strengthening America's Bridges Act is based on an amendment that Ayotte introduced earlier this year during consideration of the Keystone bill. The legislation would create the Strengthening America's Bridges Fund and authorize the U.S. Department of Transportation to provide grants to states to repair or replace bridges -- addressing an important need in New Hampshire, where almost one-third of bridges are classified as structurally deficient or functionally obsolete
