Kuster to House Leadership: Pass a Long-Term Surface Transportation Bill Now
In a letter to House leadership today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) urged support for a long-term surface transportation bill that would provide certainty for infrastructure projects in New Hampshire and across the country. A project to narrow Loudon Road in Concord in order to improve safety on the busy corridor will be delayed because the promised federal funding has not come through.
Night Lane Closures On I-293 At Exit 4 In Manchester
Weather permitting, the I-293 northbound lane closures are scheduled to take place from Friday, May 8 to Wednesday May 13, from 8:00 pm until 6:00 am each night. Interstate 293 northbound will have one open lane at all times. The northbound off ramp at Exit 4 will be closed Friday, May 8 from 11:00 pm until 5:00 am on Saturday.

President Signs Energy Efficiency Bill That Includes Ayotte-Bennet Better Buildings Act
President Obama today signed into law a bipartisan energy efficiency bill - the Energy Efficiency Improvement Act of 2015 - that includes legislation previously introduced by U.S. Senators Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) and Michael Bennet (D-CO) to boost the use of energy efficient technology by tenants in commercial buildings. The bill, authored by Senators Rob Portman (R-OH) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), includes the Bennet-Ayotte Better Buildings Act, which encourages tenants of commercial buildings to voluntarily implement cost-effective measures that will help reduce energy consumption and ultimately utility costs for businesses

Kuster Announces USDA Rural Development Grants for Projects in Bethlehem and Stratford
Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) today announced two grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program that will support projects in two New Hampshire communities. The Bethlehem School District has received a $30,000 grant that will be used to replace an oil-fired hot water boiler heating system at Bethlehem Elementary School with wood pellet boilers, and the town of Stratford has received a $15,000 grant to improve its town garage, which houses all town vehicles

Salmon Brook Senior Housing Receives Federal Funding
A new housing development for seniors is moving forward in Nashua due to a combination of federal funding sources from New Hampshire Housing. Salmon Brook Senior Housing, which is sponsored by Southern New Hampshire Services (SNHS) Management Corporation, will bring just over 30 age-restricted apartments to the greater Nashua community.
