NEW HAMPSHIRE HOUSING APPROVES FUNDING FOR SIX MAJOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS

BEDFORD, NH - November 14, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- New Hampshire Housing approved Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) funding for six affordable housing developments across the state, making possible the construction of a combined total of more than 180 units of affordable rental housing for low- and moderate-income residents. These housing developments are also expected to create almost 500 jobs while they are under construction.

The Greener Homes program, which focuses on preserving the long-term affordability of rental housing through energy updates to aging buildings, was selected for one of NCSHA’s Annual Awards for Program Excellence. The program was chosen based on its innovation, ability to be replicated, and production of measurable benefits while responding to an important state housing need.

BEDFORD, NH - September 27, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority today released a study that examines the impact of new housing construction on school enrollment in the state. “Housing and School Enrollment in New Hampshire: 2000-2010 – A Decade of Dramatic Change” was prepared by Applied Economic Research and commissioned by New Hampshire Housing to update findings from two previous studies on the same issue and to confirm whether the findings from the 2004 and 2005 studies still held true in the aftermath of the housing market crash.

BEDFORD, N.H. - July 11, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) --New Hampshire Housing Finance Authoritytoday announced its first round of awards to New Hampshire cities and towns through the Community Planning Grant (CPG) Program. The CPG Program was created by New Hampshire Housing, in collaboration with a consortium of public agencies and state-wide institutions, to help New Hampshire cities and towns improve their land use regulations and create more resilient local economies. Funding is provided through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). New Hampshire Housing is one of 27 state and local agencies to be awarded a share of $28 million in FY2011 grants through HUD’s Community Challenge Grant program, which aims to reform and reduce barriers to achieving affordable and economically vital communities.
