Manchester, NH – December 22, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement welcoming approval of a Wetlands Permit by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services for the Balsams Resort redevelopment project.

“The Balsams has long held a special place in the hearts of many Granite Staters and I am excited that this project has the wetlands permit it needs to go forward,” said Shaheen. “I’m especially happy for local residents, who have been anxiously waiting for development work to begin. Clearing this hurdle gets us one step closer to the goal of seeing this resort open in its new form. It is hard to overstate the importance of this project for the North Country. The new Balsams will bring more visitors to the area to appreciate the natural beauty of the North Country and serve as an economic engine for the region.”

The resort in Dixville Notch has hosted visitors for over a century, but has been closed since 2011.
