NEW HAMPSHIRE HOUSING RELEASES ONLINE HOMEBUYER EDUCATION
Virtual class provides easy, interactive way to learn how to buy a home
BEDFORD, N.H. – February 14, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — New Hampshire Housing has released a new, online homebuyer education course to make homeownership education easily accessible to prospective homebuyers across the state. “Becoming a Homeowner,” a free course located at Education.GoNewHampshireHousing.com, provides both first-time homebuyers and previous homeowners looking to re-enter the market with the latest information about the home buying process.
Topics covered by the course include preparing for homeownership, financing a home, purchasing a home, and closing. Users can also register and take a 25-question, end-of-course test to receive a certificate of completion that can be used toward homeownership counseling requirements for programs such as New Hampshire Housing’s Home Preferred mortgage. The course is compatible with tablet computers and also features extra tools and resources, and contact information for HUD-approved housing counselors by location.
“We believe that education is the first and most important step a person can take in the home buying process,” said Ignatius MacLellan, Managing Director, Homeownership Division at New Hampshire Housing. “Our goal with this new online class is to make that step easier to take by providing homeownership education that is free and easily accessible to Granite State residents.”
The course is the latest effort by New Hampshire Housing to support homeownership education in New Hampshire. More educational resources, including a list of homebuyer seminars across the state, can be found at www.GoNewHampshireHousing.com.
