Bedford, NH – May 19, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — At its recent meeting, the Board of Directors of New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority approved financing for Woods Edge Apartments at Rosewald Farm, phase two, in Hillsborough.
The site is home to a functional farmhouse (circa 1700), located on a 37-acre land parcel near Fox State Forest, that serves the needs of people who have autism and other developmental disabilities. Federal HOME Investment Partnership Program funds were committed to this project to allow for the creation of eight additional units of resident housing that mimic eight existing units constructed in phase one. The project developer is Farmstead of New England Inc., a social service agency that has created this unique community to provide residents with housing, meals, the opportunity for meaningful work, and numerous options for recreational and social activities.
Project improvement will add eight one-bedroom, handicap-accessible units designed to meet the needs of adults living on site. Each apartment will have its own kitchen and bathroom with separate entrances. These units are meant to house individuals who can live more independently because they do not require the close supervision that residents living in the farmhouse require.
