New Hampshire Housing Honors Top Ten Recognizes Top Ten Participating Lenders

Bedford, NH – February 20, 2008 – New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority recently honored their 2007 top ten participating lenders and loan originators, and the top mortgage broker, with a luncheon and special awards ceremony. Over the past calendar year the top ten lenders closed more than 900 new loans using New Hampshire Housing’s Single Family Mortgage Program, accounting nearly $152 million in affordable mortgages to low and moderate income first-time home buyers. Those figures represent two-thirds of New Hampshire Housing’s total calendar year loans in the program.

“New Hampshire Housing appreciates the outstanding work that all of our participating lenders, loan originators, and mortgage brokers have done in helping to promote New Hampshire Housing mortgage programs and affordable housing opportunities for first-time home buyers,” commented Liz Lamoureux, Managing Director of Home Ownership at New Hampshire Housing. “Those that we honor now have gone above and beyond to help put first-time buyers into a safe and affordable mortgage product. It is especially important in today’s mortgage arena to have lenders and originators who put the borrower’s long-term financial welfare first.”

New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority is a non-profit, public benefit corporation established by the State Legislature. The Authority operates a number of programs designed to assist low and moderate income persons to obtain housing. Since its inception, New Hampshire Housing has assisted more than 36,000 families purchase their own homes and has been instrumental in financing the creation of more than 14,000 multi-family housing units.
