‘Extreme Makeover’ comes to Manchester

MANCHESTER, Oct. 19, 2007 – A big bus pulled up to a dead-end street yesterday morning, and with it came the words a West Side family desperately longed to hear.

“Good morning, Voisine family!” shouted Ty Pennington, host of the hit TV show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

The announcement set off a frenzy on Wentworth Street, whose residents will soon bear witness to one of television’s most exhilarating spectacles: a mad dash to build one family’s dream house in just seven days.

Reynald and Casey Voisine could hardly believe their luck. Last year, on Mother’s Day, their little white house was damaged beyond repair in a severe flood. The house was razed about a month later. The Voisines, parents of four boys, pay $950 a month to live in an apartment next door.
